Kelly Carlson accepted Kimber Henry’s death as the right ending for the character, but she was less impressed by how the scene played on screen. In interviews around Nip/Tuck’s 2010 finale, Carlson said a happy sendoff would not have suited Kimber and called the death appropriate, while describing the scene as quick and visually underwhelming.
Did Kimber die on Nip/Tuck?
Yes. Kimber Henry’s death is part of the fictional story of Nip/Tuck; it is not news of a real person’s death. FX identifies Kelly Carlson as the actor who played Kimber Henry on its official cast page.
The interviews discussed here confirm Carlson’s perspective on the character’s ending, but do not establish the episode title, number, or original air date. Those details should not be inferred from the interviews alone.
Why did Carlson think Kimber’s death made sense?
In a February 23, 2010 interview with TV Guide, Carlson explained that the story decision made sense if Kimber and Christian were going to break up: “I think it makes sense because if Kimber and Christian had a breakup at the end of the series, they’re not going to get back together.” Her reasoning was that a separation would leave Kimber with little reason to remain in Christian’s orbit.

Carlson also said she was not given the real death-scene script until late in the process. That is part of her account of how the ending was handled, rather than evidence of a different planned outcome. TV Guide’s interview records her comments.

She did not want a happy sendoff
In a March 3, 2010 interview with Premium Hollywood, republished from Bullz-Eye, Carlson said: “I wouldn’t have wanted a happy sendoff for her, because it wouldn’t have fit her character at all.” She added: “I don’t mind that she died at all. I think that’s absolutely appropriate.”

She found the scene underwhelming
Accepting the plot choice did not mean Carlson liked its presentation. She described the scene as quick and said, “Visually, it wasn’t that stimulating for me to watch.” In her February TV Guide interview, she likewise said the suicide scene was not especially spectacular to watch. Her distinction was between an ending she considered right for Kimber and an execution she found less compelling on screen. Premium Hollywood’s interview contains her March comments.
