Robert Downey Jr. has the largest single-film Marvel figure in the available reporting: a reported $75 million for Avengers: Infinity War. But this is a ranking of selected public reports, not a verified league table of every MCU actor’s biggest Marvel paycheck. The figures below mix estimates, ranges, backend participation and combined acting-and-producing compensation, so each entry is labeled by what it actually describes.
Reported Marvel pay figures, ranked with their limits
The amounts below are historical entertainment-reporting figures, not contract disclosures or audited payments by Marvel Studios. A high placement means the reported number is larger; it does not mean the compensation terms are directly comparable.

Why this is not a definitive MCU paycheck leaderboard
No complete public dataset establishes each MCU actor’s highest Marvel-only payment on the same basis. A 2026 analysis by Dialectical Data describes per-film reporting as sparse and uneven, making a reliable cumulative ranking unsupported (Dialectical Data). The figures here therefore rank selected amounts reported in public coverage; they do not establish who earned the most over an MCU career.
- Single-film pay is not a deal range: a reported amount for one film cannot be directly compared with a multi-film range.
- Salary is not always total compensation: backend or profit participation may affect earnings, but the cited reports do not consistently disclose those terms.
- Combined roles change the comparison: Johansson’s reported Black Widow amount includes both acting and producing.
Downey’s $75 million annual earnings figure is a different measure
Forbes listed Downey Jr. at $75 million in annual earnings in its 2013 highest-paid actors coverage (Forbes). That is an annual total, not a Marvel-only paycheck or a film-specific Infinity War figure. Forbes also listed him at $75 million in its 2014 annual earnings coverage (Forbes); neither yearly figure should be added to his reported Marvel compensation.

How to read the ranking
The strongest conclusion is narrow: Downey Jr.’s reported Infinity War compensation is the largest single-film Marvel figure in these reports. The other numbers are useful snapshots, but their different definitions—and the absence of consistently disclosed contracts—prevent a fair claim that this is a complete ranking of actors’ biggest Marvel paychecks.
