The clearest Drake-directed moments in Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show were performances of “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us.” Lamar teased “Not Like Us,” paused for “luther” with SZA, then returned to the song. Serena Williams appeared briefly during it. Other songs and stage images added context, but the available reporting does not establish them as Drake disses.
What counts as a Drake diss in the show?
A diss is clearest when the song itself contains direct attacks aimed at Drake. By that standard, the strongest evidence is the performance of “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us.” Other moments may invite interpretation, but a cameo or visual detail alone does not prove a Drake-directed message.
The NFL’s official halftime-show video is the primary audiovisual reference. The Associated Press reported the set sequence and the edits it heard in the televised performance; TIME supplied context for Williams’ cameo.
The direct lyrical disses
“Euphoria”
“Euphoria” was one of the two clearest Drake-directed songs in the set, according to the Associated Press. Its inclusion made the feud explicit through the music rather than relying on a visual reading of the stage.

“Not Like Us”
“Not Like Us” was the other unmistakable Drake-directed selection. The song contains accusations in diss lyrics; those lyrics are not proof that the accusations are true. The Associated Press reported that the televised performance omitted the word “pedophile” but retained the lines “I hear you like ’em young” and “Tryna strike a chord and it’s prolly A minor.” That reporting establishes those observed edits, not a complete official lyric-by-lyric transcript.
How Lamar brought back “Not Like Us”
The Associated Press described a tease-and-return sequence: Lamar suggested he might perform the audience’s favorite song, then performed “luther” with SZA before returning to “Not Like Us” a few minutes later. That supports describing the moment as playful suspense about whether the song would appear. The sequence alone does not establish a hidden legal or personal motive.

Serena Williams’ brief appearance
Williams appeared as a solo dancer during “Not Like Us.” TIME reported that the cameo lasted less than five seconds and noted that both Williams and Lamar are from Compton. It also connected the moment to a lyric in the song and to Williams’ earlier public comments about the feud. Those details provide context, not proof of what Williams or Lamar privately intended; neither is cited as explaining the cameo.

AP reported that five of those songs came from GNX. The other selections help show why it would be inaccurate to label every track a Drake diss: the reported set included material with no direct Drake target established in the coverage.
Stage imagery: context, not confirmed disses
Samuel L. Jackson appeared in an Uncle Sam costume as an emcee, and the field performance used red, white, and blue imagery. Lamar also appeared on a Buick Grand National Experimental—the car after which GNX is named. These are reported staging details; the available coverage does not establish them as Drake-directed messages. Any symbolic reading should be treated as interpretation rather than confirmed intent.

Why “Not Like Us” drew particular attention
Before the show, AP framed the open question as whether Lamar would perform “Not Like Us.” Apple’s February 3, 2025 announcement said the track was Apple Music’s top-streamed song worldwide. That is Apple’s dated, platform-specific claim, not a cross-platform ranking or an independently audited statistic.
The NFL announced Lamar as the Super Bowl LIX halftime headliner for February 9, 2025, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. In that pre-show announcement, Lamar said, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why.” The quote sets out his stated outlook before the event; it is not an explanation of the performance afterward.

What the show establishes—and what it does not
The evidence supports a focused inventory: “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us” were the clearest Drake-directed songs; the televised “Not Like Us” retained pointed lines while omitting one word, as AP reported; and Williams made a short appearance during the song. The tease, cameo, and staging can be described with their reported context, but they do not establish private motives or turn every element of the set into a diss.
