No—Rey Mysterio’s WWE career is not over as of October 8, 2026. WWE’s official profile lists Raw material dated October 5, 2026, and a recent interview report says Mysterio has not set a retirement date.
Is Rey Mysterio still active in WWE?
Yes. WWE’s official Superstar profile lists Raw highlights dated October 5, 2026, including a segment involving Mysterio, Dragon Lee and Big Cass. WWE’s verified channel also published a Raw segment featuring Mysterio on August 3, 2026. These are evidence of recent WWE activity, not a prediction about how long he will continue.
Has Rey Mysterio announced a retirement date?
No firm date has been reported. In a September 2026 interview attributed to BANG Showbiz, Mysterio described enjoying his current work across Raw and AAA, along with his general manager role. F4W/WON quoted him saying: “I think I’m just going to wing it and see where this road takes me, because I’m really enjoying the moments right now that I’m living inside the ring, whether as a wrestler or as a GM.” F4W/WON’s September 14 report carries the quote; Men’s Journal’s coverage also summarizes his outlook as having no firm retirement date in mind.
That is a statement about how he feels now, not a promise that he will never retire. It also does not establish a scheduled retirement match.
