It covered only the first five episodes of the game’s eight-episode first season, according to reporting at the time, and did not include Season 2. Netflix removed its version in December 2022.
What was the Netflix version?
Netflix described Minecraft: Story Mode as a “licensed 5-episode interactive narrative series” and said it viewed the format as “interactive narrative storytelling,” rather than traditional gaming. TechRadar reported Netflix’s clarification on June 13, 2018.
It was therefore an adaptation of the game for Netflix, not a stream of the complete game. Viewers made choices as the story unfolded, but the Netflix version did not contain the game’s entire episode lineup or all of its gameplay elements.
How much of the game’s story did Netflix include?

The original game offered more direct interaction than the Netflix adaptation. A contemporary review describes timed dialogue choices, exploration for interactions, puzzles, cutscenes, and quick-time events. Eurogamer’s review covers those game elements.

Can you watch the Netflix version now?
No. A November 2022 report said Netflix would remove Minecraft: Story Mode globally on December 5, 2022. That report also identifies the five episodes as the first five of the game’s first season. Read the dated removal report.
Can you still get the original game?
Its availability is limited. Mojang’s May 31, 2019 notice said Season 1 and Season 2 would no longer be supported after June 25, 2019, and advised owners to download remaining episodes before support ended. The notice listed Windows, macOS, PlayStation 3 and 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360 and One, Android, and iOS. Mojang’s notice.

Telltale’s current page says it does not possess the license to sell, distribute, or support either season. Telltale’s current statement. A 2022 report noted physical copies as a possible way to seek out the game after digital storefront removal, but a listing should be checked for platform, region, condition, and which episodes it includes. A physical copy is not a guarantee that every episode can still be downloaded or played.

No. Netflix announced a separate CG-animated Minecraft series on May 30, 2024, describing it as an original story with new characters, developed with Mojang and produced in partnership with Flying Bark Productions. It is distinct from the former interactive Story Mode series. Netflix’s announcement.
