No public reporting establishes that Bronwyn Newport is using The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC) to split from Todd Bradley. Newport has said the show brought existing problems in their marriage into focus and may have sped up a conversation, but did not cause their separation. Her explanation is not proof of private motives, and the couple’s legal status should not be inferred from scenes filmed earlier.
What Newport has said about RHOSLC and the separation
In a report published September 9, 2026, Bravo quoted Newport saying, “The show didn’t cause this; it might’ve sped it up.” She described the series as exposing cracks that were already there, rather than creating the reason for the breakup. That account supports a distinction between the show bringing marital problems into public view and the show being the cause of the separation; it does not establish that she joined or used the program with a plan to leave Bradley. Bravo’s report also presents her comments in the context of the show’s edited portrayal, not as independent evidence of private intent.
At the RHOSLC Season 6 reunion, Newport characterized the decision as hers and said the couple were no longer moving forward as a team: “We weren’t working forward anymore. We weren’t a team anymore. I was just, like, PR for him. It no longer felt respectful.” Those are Newport’s descriptions of her experience in the marriage, not independently verified findings about Bradley or their private relationship.
What Newport says led to the breakup
Newport has attributed the separation to growing distance and a lack of partnership and respect. In June 2026, Bravo quoted her describing life changes and growing apart as making it hard for the couple to reconnect. In a Season 7 preview, she also described feeling alone and identified a missed acknowledgment of her 40th birthday as a final straw. These explanations come from Newport’s account; a reality-TV scene or reunion discussion cannot independently establish the full history of the marriage.

When the separation was announced
Bravo reported on December 12, 2025, that a representative for Newport confirmed the couple had separated. The announcement came after nine years of marriage and more than a decade together. It confirmed a separation, not a divorce filing or the date any legal case might have begun.
Has Bronwyn Newport filed for divorce?
The cited reports do not establish whether a divorce case had been filed by October 8, 2026. In a Season 7 premiere preview reported September 9, 2026, Newport said they had not filed at the time that scene was filmed. Bravo also reported that she had referred to divorce and mediation in an Instagram story in June 2026. Those details refer to different moments and do not establish the couple’s current court status.

In the preview, Newport said, “I would kind of like to start that process, but it still feels very raw for me. And I know that sounds stupid, because I’m the one driving this.” That statement describes her feelings during filming; it is not confirmation that divorce proceedings have since started or that a court filing exists.
