He has continued releasing music, with his label listing releases through his January 2026 album BE MORE GRATEFUL. That activity shows his career continued; it does not settle whether public opinion has changed or whether the controversy still affects particular opportunities.
What happened at Rolling Loud in 2021?
At Rolling Loud Miami in July 2021, DaBaby made remarks about HIV/AIDS and gay men while addressing the crowd. The comments were criticized as homophobic and for spreading misinformation about HIV/AIDS. In the aftermath, Lollapalooza and Governors Ball removed him from their 2021 lineups; contemporaneous reporting also described other festival cancellations. Pitchfork reported on Lollapalooza’s decision, while ABC News covered the remarks and their aftermath.
Did DaBaby apologize?
DaBaby later issued a public apology to the LGBTQ+ community. ABC News reported that his statement described his comments as “hurtful and triggering.” That establishes what he said in the apology; it does not establish how the apology was received or whether it changed people’s views.
What has DaBaby released since the controversy?
His label’s news page documents continued releases after 2021, including albums, an EP, singles, and BE MORE GRATEFUL, announced January 30, 2026. The dated entries include:

There is no official or universally agreed test for being “cancelled.” The answer depends on what the term is meant to describe. If it means that the 2021 remarks brought documented career consequences, the festival removals show that they did. If it means that DaBaby stopped making music or disappeared from official label release activity, the dated releases through 2026 show otherwise.

Neither fact proves that the public has broadly forgiven him, that the controversy no longer matters, or that every part of the music industry has accepted him again. The sources documenting the releases and the controversy do not provide a comprehensive current measure of public sentiment or the controversy’s effect on specific opportunities.
