How much did Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom pay for their Montecito home?
Architectural Digest reported on October 22, 2020, that Perry and Bloom had purchased a Montecito compound spanning 8.9 acres for $14.2 million. The Architectural Digest report is the source for that specific acreage and price.
The Los Angeles Times later described the couple as paying $14.2 million for a sprawling nine-acre compound when they moved to Montecito in 2020. The difference between 8.9 acres and nine acres appears to be rounding, not evidence of a different size. The Times account is available at the Los Angeles Times.
Is the $14.5 million mansion the same as the $15 million lawsuit home?
The available reports describe two distinct property references, and their figures should not be merged. The $14.2 million purchase is reported as an 8.9-acre compound. Separately, Carl Westcott contracted to sell a Montecito residence for $15 million in 2020; that deal became the subject of a legal dispute. What happened in the dispute over the $15 million sale?
The first trial addressed whether the contract should stand
In November 2023, the Los Angeles Times reported that a judge ruled for Perry’s side in the first trial, finding that Westcott had not proved he lacked capacity when he made the deal. That ruling concerned the challenge to the sale, not the later calculation of damages.

A later trial focused on damages and rental income
On August 26, 2025, the Associated Press reported that Perry testified remotely in a second trial focused on damages and lost rental income. Asked whether she stood to gain from the trial, Perry replied, “Justice.” She also said, “I stand to lose money if it doesn’t work in my favor.” Read the Associated Press report for its account of that testimony and the case at that point.
A later Realtor.com report says a court awarded Perry $1.8 million in lost rental income. The available report does not establish its publication date or whether subsequent orders or appeals changed the outcome, so that amount should not be treated here as a confirmed final disposition. The reporting supports a purchase price of $14.2 million in 2020 and an acreage description of 8.9 acres, with the Los Angeles Times rounding the area to nine acres. It does not establish a verified room count, architectural style, interior inventory, current market value, current occupancy, or current listing status for that specific compound. Those details should not be inferred from the separate lawsuit home.
