The details come from interviews and a newsletter account—not independent reporting on the family’s private routines—so they are best understood as snapshots from those years, not a guaranteed annual schedule.
What Meghan said about Thanksgiving in 2024
In interviews published in November 2024, Meghan described Thanksgiving as relatively low-key and said being near her mother mattered to her. She also spoke about making room at the table for friends without family nearby. “I was thinking about, in the past few years of having Thanksgiving here, like many of us, I think you always make sure there’s room at the table for your friends who don’t have family, which is really key,” she said, according to The Independent.
She gave Gloria Steinem as an example of a guest from a previous year. That story reflects the welcome Meghan described, rather than establishing that Steinem attends every Thanksgiving. The same interviews portrayed the holiday as centered on a good meal and something enjoyable afterward—games or music, for example. Meghan also said recipes can become bound up with formative memories. Tatler quoted her saying, “Every single holiday is a new adventure,” a fitting description of how she framed family celebrations with young children.
Christmas through the children’s eyes
In 2024, Meghan said she looked forward to experiencing Christmas through Archie and Lilibet’s eyes. One small piece of the seasonal magic she mentioned was leaving carrots for the reindeer. She also told The Independent, “I love the holidays,” in an interview about the family’s plans and traditions.

Those remarks suggest an emphasis on shared, child-centered moments rather than a rigid itinerary. They do not establish that every detail happens each year or that the family follows the same plan for every holiday.
What the 2025 holiday special showed

The reported fillings were personal to the family: a love letter, chocolate and a small hat for Harry; a lavender roller-ball fragrance for Lilibet; and small burger charms for Archie.

Meghan’s account of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in 2025
In a newsletter message quoted by Town & Country, Meghan described a Christmas Eve meal of dim sum, last-minute gift wrapping, and leaving cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. She wrote: “Last night, I was nibbling the remnants of our Christmas Eve feast (dim sum this year), wrapping a few last minute gifts, and tip toe-ing down the stairs with my husband to make sure ‘Santa’ had enjoyed his cookies and ‘the reindeer’ had eaten their carrots – anything to maintain the morning magic of Christmas through our children’s eyes,”
