Australian influencer Veruca Salt said she would spend time with her son Cash before his funeral and step away from being online. PerthNow reported her update on February 19, 2024, after Cash died in his sleep at six weeks old on February 5.
What Veruca Salt said in her update
PerthNow quoted Salt’s TikTok update as saying: “I know ur worried about me but my baby is back in his room for a few days before his funeral and I’ll be spending time with him instead of being online, thank u”. She was telling followers she would be offline while she spent those days with Cash.
The report described Cash as having returned to his room for a few days before the funeral. It did not establish further details about the arrangements or the care Salt received.
What was reported about Cash’s death
PerthNow reported that Cash died in his sleep on February 5, 2024, when he was six weeks old. The outlet also reproduced an earlier statement attributed to Salt: “My baby died in his sleep on Monday morning. I don’t know what happened, he is having an autopsy this week but it is unlikely that I’ll ever have an answer.” That was Salt’s statement at the time; the reporting available here does not establish an autopsy result or a definitive cause of death.

How this update fits the later coverage
The February 19 report concerned Salt’s plan to spend time with Cash before the funeral. PerthNow then published funeral coverage on February 20, quoting Salt’s caption: “I’ll miss him forever. Everything I do will always be for him 🤍.” A March 14 follow-up covered her video about packing away Cash’s room. These were later reports, not details of the February 19 update.
What the report’s comments do—and do not—confirm
PerthNow’s report noted readers commenting about “cold cots” and “cuddle cot,” terms for a refrigerated cot. Those were audience comments, not confirmation that Salt used one, and they should not be read as a recommendation or as evidence about her family’s care.
