Folha informó que la Policía Civil de Santa Catarina abrió una investigación después de conocer el caso el 21 de enero de 2025. La policía pidió el historial médico y la lista del equipo técnico, y solicitó la exhumación del cuerpo para realizar una evaluación pericial.
