I can’t honestly call this a first-person review: the available tasting reports describe other people’s experiences, not mine. Those reports offer a mixed picture, from familiar, easy-drinking light beer to an underwhelming showing in one blind test.
What is the Kelce brothers’ beer?
It’s Garage Beer. In a June 2024 company announcement, the brand described Jason and Travis Kelce as “significant investors, partners, owners, and operators.” That announcement also included promotional remarks from the brothers and co-owner Andy Sauer; those comments explain the company’s pitch, but they are not independent assessments of the beer. What does Garage Beer taste like, according to published tasters?
The published reactions cited here concern particular tasters and occasions, not a universal verdict. A Kansas City Star staff tasting in November 2024 focused on Garage Beer Lime. Panelists’ descriptions ranged from comparisons to Coors Light and labels such as “college beer” or “yard beer” to one person liking the lime character enough to call it “playoff worthy.” Those are the panelists’ impressions, not my tasting notes. A July 2024 Philadelphia Inquirer blind test found Garage Beer struggled against the other beers in that test. That result reflects its specific lineup and tasters; it is not a scientific ranking of all light beers. Taken together, the two reports suggest a straightforward light-beer profile that some people may find familiar and easy to drink, while others may find it unremarkable. What varieties and label figures does the brand list?
In an April 23, 2026 announcement, Garage Beer listed Classic and Lime and said bottles were launching. The brand reported 4% alcohol by volume, 95 calories and 3 grams of carbohydrates for its lager. These are company-reported figures, not independently measured values in the sources cited here; check the current package for the product and serving you’re buying. Is it worth trying?
If you want a light lager and are curious about the Kelce connection, the published reports don’t establish that Garage Beer is either a standout or a beer everyone should avoid. They show different reactions to a specific variety and a separate blind-test lineup. A fair comparison with another light lager would use the same serving temperature and container where practical, and consider aroma, flavor, finish, body, carbonation, label figures and local price per serving. The available reports do not provide a matched comparison across all those dimensions.

Garage Beer’s April 2026 announcement says the brand is available in all 50 states and points consumers to its beer finder. That is the company’s availability claim, not a guarantee that a nearby retailer has it in stock. Check local inventory and the current package before buying.
