Yes—Hunter × Hunter had a new manga chapter announced for Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 31, scheduled for June 29, 2026, after about 18 months without a new chapter. But that announcement did not say the manga was returning to a regular weekly schedule. “The 2026 release” also refers to separate developments: Japan’s Volume 39 release, a U.S.-region mobile game rollout and an official full-series anime streaming schedule.

ORICON reported Shueisha’s announcement that a new chapter would be published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 31, scheduled for June 29, 2026. ORICON reproduced the official Weekly Shonen Jump X account’s statement: “A new chapter of HUNTER × HUNTER will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 31, released on June 29. The latest collected volume, Volume 39, will be released on July 3.” ORICON’s report attributes the announcement to Shueisha.

Does that mean the manga is back weekly?
No regular weekly schedule was announced. ORICON noted that Shueisha described publication of a chapter, not a restart of traditional weekly serialization. The June 29 date is for the scheduled issue, not evidence of an ongoing cadence.
What is Volume 39, and where was it released?
Shueisha lists Volume 39 as a 208-page Jump Comics volume released in Japan on July 3, 2026. Its ISBN is 978-4-08-885174-7. The publisher’s synopsis places the story in the Succession Contest. This is the Japanese edition; the available information does not establish an English-language Volume 39 release. Shueisha’s Volume 39 listing identifies its format and publication details.
