Jennifer Coolidge says The White Lotus changed how she viewed one man’s invitation to go out—not that it definitively increased the number of dates she gets. In a 2025 account reported by The Independent, she recalled being approached in New Orleans and rethinking the invitation after the show’s success.
What Coolidge said about the New Orleans invitation
According to The Independent’s March 24, 2025 report of an interview with The Times, a man approached Coolidge in New Orleans and asked her out. She recalled details of his appearance, then said the show had changed how she saw the invitation: “And White Lotus changed that for me. It’s not just that little guy anymore.”
Her point, as reported, was about her perception of that encounter and her expectations—not a claim that the man or the invitation had objectively changed. The story does not establish that the role caused him to approach her, or that Coolidge subsequently went on a date with him.
Why her 2023 answer sounds different
At the Golden Globes in January 2023, Coolidge was asked whether The White Lotus had improved her dating life. She answered, “I don’t know about that,” then added, “I mean, I hope so!” The Independent reported the exchange at the time; its 2025 article also recounted it.

The two accounts are compatible. The earlier question asked broadly whether the series had improved her dating life; the later anecdote described one invitation that she came to view differently. Neither account measures how many dates she had or establishes a wider change in her romantic life.

In 2021 interviews, Coolidge described The White Lotus as a meaningful professional opportunity. Speaking to the Los Angeles Times in December 2021, she said that after doing the show she felt she had received a “really cool part” and that it no longer seemed impossible. That is career context: greater visibility may help explain why the role mattered to her, but it is not evidence that the show directly produced dates.

She also discussed the role and her past experiences in a Vanity Fair interview in July 2021. Those reflections concern her work and personal history, not proof of a measurable dating effect.
