Three Duggar siblings are reported to have settled well outside Arkansas: Jana Duggar Wissmann in Nebraska, Jinger Duggar Vuolo in California, and Justin Duggar in Texas. Add Jill Dillard and the count could be four, but her reported East Coast move is tied to husband Derick’s Marine Corps training—not established as a permanent home. This is a snapshot of reporting published April 9–10, 2026, not a definitive census of where every adult Duggar lives.
Which Duggar siblings have moved far from Arkansas?
“Far away” has no fixed mileage threshold in the available reporting, so the clearest way to count is by whether a sibling is described as having settled outside Arkansas. Us Weekly’s April 10, 2026, roundup names three: Jana, Jinger, and Justin. Its April 9 report describes a possible fourth, Jill, in connection with a temporary training itinerary.
| Sibling | Reported location | What is established about the move |
|---|---|---|
| Jana Duggar Wissmann | Nebraska | Reported settled in her husband Stephen Wissmann’s hometown after their 2024 marriage; the couple renovated a house there. |
| Jinger Duggar Vuolo | Los Angeles, California | Moved there with Jeremy after an earlier period in Laredo, Texas; Jeremy’s further theological training is reported as the reason for the Los Angeles relocation. |
| Justin Duggar | Texas; city not established | Named among siblings settled outside Arkansas, but the reporting does not explain why he moved. |
| Jill Dillard | Virginia, then Rhode Island, for training | Reported plan to join Derick and their sons during his Marine Corps officer training; the report does not establish a permanent post-training home. |
Why did Jana Duggar move to Nebraska?
Us Weekly reports that Jana married Stephen Wissmann in August 2024 and settled in his Nebraska hometown. The couple renovated a house there and welcomed their first child in December 2025. Those details establish the reported sequence and location, but they do not show that marriage or the hometown was the full reason for the move.
Jana’s family-site biography says she enjoys interior design, renovation, and DIY projects, which is relevant context for the house renovation—not evidence of why she moved. The family’s official site describes Jim Bob and Michelle as parents of 19 children, but that family-wide figure does not itself establish where each adult child lives.

Why did Jinger Duggar move to California?
After marrying Jeremy Vuolo in 2016, Jinger moved to Laredo, Texas. The couple later relocated to Los Angeles so Jeremy could pursue further theological training, according to Us Weekly’s account of the move.
Jinger has also described what living at a distance from her family has meant to her. In a transcript of The Unplanned Podcast with Matt & Abby, she said: “Being far away from family is like, you know, they’re always bittersweet things about that, right? Like, I wish I could be there with my sisters when they’re all hanging out or whatever, but it’s also been healthy for us to just be away and be our own family and grow and learn together.” That is her reflection on the experience, not proof of the original reason for the Los Angeles move.
What is known about Justin Duggar’s move to Texas?
The April 2026 roundup identifies Justin as living in Texas, but does not name a city or explain his reason for moving. Beyond that reported location, the available account does not support a more specific explanation.
Does Jill Dillard count as a fourth sibling who moved away?
Only with a qualification. In an April 9, 2026, report, Jill and Derick Dillard said they expected to leave Arkansas for Derick’s Marine Corps Officer Candidate School training. The report described an expected move to Virginia for initial training, followed by Jill and their three sons joining him in Virginia and later Rhode Island during the training period.
Rank #3
The same report says the couple returned to Arkansas in 2017 after a brief volunteer mission in Central America. It places Derick’s long-standing JAG ambition and Marine Corps training in the context of the new transition, but does not establish where the family will live after the training itinerary. A January 21, 2026, podcast-notes page had described them as raising their sons in Arkansas while Derick worked in Oklahoma; that earlier snapshot helps explain why the later report is best treated as a planned transition rather than a settled permanent relocation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is there one reason the Duggar siblings moved?
No shared reason is established. The reported circumstances differ: Jana settled in her husband’s Nebraska hometown; Jinger and Jeremy relocated to Los Angeles for his further theological training; Jill’s reported East Coast plan is connected to Derick’s military training; and the cited account does not explain Justin’s Texas move. Jinger’s personal comments illuminate how she feels about distance, but should not be generalized to her siblings.
