ABC News reported her reaction on April 25, 2024, after Kelce listened on release day. The comment refers to Swift’s 2024 album—not a later release.
What Donna Kelce said about the album
In its April 25, 2024 report, ABC News said Kelce had spoken with People earlier that week. Her assessment was warmly positive: “I was just very impressed,” she said. “She is a very talented woman, and I think it is probably her best work.” ABC News reported the comments in connection with The Tortured Poets Department.
ABC also reported that Kelce told People and Us Weekly she listened to the album on the day it was released.
What she said about songs listeners linked to Travis Kelce
Kelce did not confirm that any song was about her son, Travis Kelce. Addressing speculation about the lyrics, she said: “I know there’s a few [songs] that some people think are about Travis, but we’ll just see.” She added, “I’ll have to ask her when I see her.” ABC News attributed those remarks to her comments to Us Weekly.

Which “new album” the reaction refers to
The phrase “new album” can become confusing as Swift releases more music. Donna Kelce’s documented praise here concerns The Tortured Poets Department in 2024. In a September 22, 2026 report, the Associated Press described The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore as an extended version of Swift’s 2025 album, with four additional tracks: “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon.” That later release does not change which album Kelce was discussing in her 2024 comments. The Associated Press reported on the extended edition; the available reporting cited here does not establish a reaction from Kelce to it.
