Why Hudson calls him “Papa”
Hudson has used affectionate family language for Steven Tyler in public. Harper’s Bazaar reported that she called him “Papa Steven” in 2016. In 2018, while sharing a photo with him, she captioned it: “Baby girl got some good hugs from Papa Tyler this weekend.” The wording conveys warmth and familiarity, but it does not establish a biological or legal parent-child relationship.

What is known about how they first met
The available accounts connect Hudson and Tyler through Liv and describe a longstanding, family-like bond. They do not identify the exact occasion or year when Hudson first met Steven Tyler, and Tyler is not quoted explaining their first meeting. It is therefore more accurate to say that Hudson knows him through her friendship with Liv than to claim a specific first-meeting story.
