A user-shared photo from Kamloops offered an early glimpse of The Last of Us Season 2 production in British Columbia: the set was identified as Greenplace Market, a location from The Last of Us Part II. It was not an official HBO publicity image or a complete account of where the season filmed.
What the first set photo showed
On February 11, 2024, an image was shared in the series’ official subreddit. Bradly Shankar’s MobileSyrup report the next day identified the pictured supermarket set as Greenplace Market in Kamloops, British Columbia. The report described the image as a user-shared glimpse, rather than a formal HBO reveal. Read the February 12, 2024 report.

Greenplace Market’s connection to the game
Greenplace Market is a fictional location in The Last of Us Part II. The game features it in an early patrol sequence with Ellie and Dina near Jackson, Wyoming. Kamloops is the reported real-world location of the set shown in the photo; the image does not mean the production filmed in fictional Jackson.
For viewers curious about the source material, the recently released PS5 remaster of The Last of Us Part II was mentioned in the report as an optional way to revisit the game. It is not needed to view or understand the set photo.

What was known about filming in B.C.
MobileSyrup reported that production was set to take place across British Columbia, including Vancouver. Its Kamloops image establishes one reported set location, not every filming location or the completed production schedule. The article also noted that Canmore, Alberta, had stood in for Jackson in Season 1, but did not explain the difference between that earlier location and the Season 2 plan.
