FAN EXPO Canada 2024 brought game performers, developer panels, hands-on play, esports and TV-cast appearances to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto from August 22–25, 2024. The event is over, so its bookings, schedules and activations below are a historical guide—not current offers.
Video game guests and panels
The gaming program paired appearances by voice actors and game performers with conversations about making major games. According to MobileSyrup’s August 20, 2024 roundup, Jennifer Hale (Mass Effect), Charles Martinet (Mario), Cameron Monaghan (the Star Wars Jedi series), Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3), Tara Strong (Harley Quinn in DC games) and Patricia Summersett (The Legend of Zelda) were scheduled for panels, paid autographs and photo opportunities. The same preview noted that Roger Craig Smith and Keith David had cancelled, underscoring that an advance guest list could change.
Developer discussions
Rod Fergusson of Blizzard was scheduled to discuss Diablo IV. Ubisoft Toronto team members were set to talk about developing Star Wars Outlaws. Victor Lucas, creator of Electric Playground, was slated to moderate both game-industry panels and host a separate show-focused panel with Marissa Roberto and Shaun Hatton.
Hands-on play and game-themed activities
- PC Game Pass Arena: Xbox’s reported arena offered games visitors could play with professional gamers.
- Xbox photo and art activations: The preview listed photo opportunities themed around Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a claw machine with Star Wars Outlaws plushies, and artist Christiano De Araujo painting a Black Ops 6-themed Xbox Series S during the show.
- Astro Bot promotion: PlayStation did not have a booth, but visitors could photograph hidden Astro Bot banners and post the images on social media for a chance to win a prize pack.
- Space Marine 2 demo: Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive were reported to be bringing a playable demo of the then-upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
The Star Wars Outlaws panel and plushies were separate event attractions; neither was described as a requirement to own or play the game.

Streaming and screen attractions
The event’s screen-related programming ranged from cast appearances and a series panel to promotional booths. The guests named in the preview included Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka), Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian), Temuera Morrison (The Book of Boba Fett), Mike Flanagan and Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass), as well as cast members from Letterkenny and Trailer Park Boys. These appearances covered television and streaming titles; they should not all be treated as streaming-service showcases.
Agatha All Along panel
Kathryn Hahn and Joe Locke were scheduled to appear with creator and showrunner Jac Schaeffer in a Friday panel promoting the then-upcoming WandaVision spin-off Agatha All Along. Unlike many other listed guests, the trio were not offering photo opportunities or autographs, according to the event preview.

Platform-branded activations
- Paramount+: A lodge-themed booth was reported to feature Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob SquarePants photo or activity areas, including SpongeBob mini-golf.
- Prime Video: The The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 activation was set to include orc encounters and a Ring of Power forging activity. At the time of the August 20 preview, the ring-making booking calendar was already full.
Esports and charitable play
Bell’s live esports programming included 4v4 Call of Duty, 5v5 Valorant and 5v5 Overwatch 2 tournaments. MobileSyrup reported a total of $30,000 in prizes for the event in 2024; that is a contemporaneous prize-pool figure, not a current offer.
A separate AMD and Princess Margaret activation was described as an arcade with claw machines, VR experiences, boxing simulators and other activities. The preview said purchased game credits would support cancer research. That charitable-credit arrangement was distinct from Bell’s esports prize pool.

What the 2024 program offered—and what it did not
The attractions split into different ways to participate: meet performers through panels or separately paid guest experiences, hear developers discuss their work, play games, watch or enter esports, or visit franchise-themed booths. Access rules were not uniform: the game guests’ autographs and photo opportunities were paid, the Agatha All Along trio offered neither, and the Prime Video ring-making activity required a booking that was already full when the preview appeared. The available event preview does not establish the precise costs or entry requirements for every booth activity.
FAN EXPO Canada’s current About the Show page describes the convention as Canada’s largest comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming event, with celebrity panels, workshops and a large shopping floor. That is the organizer’s present-day general description, not a 2024 attendance statistic.
