Glimpse was Futurism Studios’ first original short-form fiction series: science-fiction stories built around subjects covered by Futurism and framed by its creators as a more hopeful alternative to dystopian futures. The 2018 launch announcement introduced “Circuits” as the premiere and set out a seven-week release plan. That announcement records the intended schedule and distribution at launch; it does not establish where the series can be watched today.

What is Glimpse about?

Futurism Studios developed Glimpse as short-form narrative fiction connected to science and technology. Its premise starts with a question: what might science fiction look like if the future were presented as exciting and full of possibility, rather than as an inevitable dystopia?

The creators said the stories would draw on real science and the work of futurists and technologists. That is the series’ stated creative approach, not an independent finding that every story or technology is scientifically accurate.

Why did its creators want a more hopeful future?

Geoff Clark, then President of Futurism Studios and an executive producer of the series, described Glimpse as an effort to sit alongside darker science fiction while imagining technology helping people: “We crafted Glimpse to exist in parallel with those stories—fun, nuanced narratives that showcase the other side of the coin, and futures where technology solves our problems and affords us better lives.”

Writer Luke Kingma, Futurism’s Creative Director, said the featured technologies could be traced to subjects covered by Futurism. The launch article singled out “Day 180” and “Sebastian Moller” as episodes that combine different technologies within a single storyline, an approach Kingma connected to world building. These comments describe the series’ editorial intent and storytelling method; they do not establish how viewers or critics received it.

What was the launch schedule?

Futurism’s launch article announced “Circuits” for September 13, 2018, followed by one episode each week for seven weeks. This was the schedule announced at launch, not confirmation here of the completed release history.

Where was Glimpse supposed to be available?

The 2018 announcement said the series would premiere worldwide on DUST and Futurism platforms. It also named Facebook Watch and DUSTx, which the article described at the time as a recently launched destination on Roku. Those details document planned launch-era distribution; they do not confirm current catalog listings, streaming rights, or availability.

In the same launch context, Gunpowder & Sky co-founder and president Floris Bauer projected that the partnership would reach “more than 15MM fans worldwide” through its channels and new audiences on Facebook Watch and DUSTx. This was a promotional estimate of prospective reach, not a verified audience result or a current audience figure.

  • Cinematographer: David Farkas
  • Composers: DJ Gramatik and Luxas

What the launch announcement does—and does not—tell viewers

The September 13, 2018 Futurism article is a record of the series’ premise, credited contributors, and planned release and distribution. It does not establish where Glimpse is available now or who currently holds its streaming rights. Viewers looking for the series should check current listings on the relevant services rather than assume that the launch-era platforms still carry it.
