Henry Cavill praised Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 in an Instagram post reported by PC Gamer on 23 September 2024. He said he loved that he could not finish the campaign’s “Angel of Death” difficulty alone and that he was “Loving the PvP.” His remarks were his personal reaction at the time—not a review or a report on the game’s current player population.
What Cavill said about the campaign
PC Gamer reported that Cavill wrote: “I couldn’t complete the campaign on Angel of Death by myself (or at least didn’t have patience to complete by myself!) which I love!” The comment frames the challenge as part of the appeal, while acknowledging that he might have run out of patience playing alone.
The campaign can be played solo or with up to two friends, according to Xbox Wire’s overview of the game. Cavill’s remark is specifically about his attempt to complete the highest difficulty alone; it does not establish how difficult the campaign is for every player.
Why he was enthusiastic about PvP
Cavill also wrote: “Loving the PvP and am really looking forward to it growing and expanding—It has real potential to be absolutely awesome!” He followed that hope with a qualification: “Disclaimer: I know nothing about game development so the kind of dreams I have may be rather difficult to implement!” His post expressed enthusiasm and hopes for the mode, not a promise that specific changes would be made.

Xbox Wire describes the game’s PvP as 6v6 team matches, distinct from the cooperative campaign and three-player PvE Operations. A later official Focus Entertainment Q&A recap said the director characterized PvP as the game’s least-played mode at the time, noting that it requires 12 players, and said more improvements were planned. That dated developer comment provides context for Cavill’s wish that the mode grow; it does not establish current matchmaking conditions or player numbers.

The comments were reported by PC Gamer on 23 September 2024 and attributed to Cavill’s Instagram account. The Independent also reported on the post the following day. The remarks are best understood as one player’s response to the campaign challenge and PvP at that time, rather than an independent review or a current assessment of either mode.
