She wore a black, floor-length Vetements bustier gown with a train—not a short little black dress. Vetements creative director Guram Gvasalia designed the look.
What did Heidi Klum wear to the 2025 Met Gala?
Klum wore a black, floor-length bustier gown with a train. Vogue Germany identifies it as a Vetements design and describes a narrow logo band at the edges reading “Gammarelli Super 100’S Double Face.” The source description does not call the gown body-con, and its floor-length silhouette is not an LBD in the usual sense of a little black dress. Vogue Germany’s outfit report gives the garment details.
She paired the gown with pointed black heels and a large temporary Vetements tattoo on her left forearm. Vogue’s 2025 red-carpet gallery also identifies her look as Vetements.
Who designed the gown, and what was distinctive about the fabric?
The gown was designed by Guram Gvasalia, Vetements’ creative director. Its band names the fabric as “Gammarelli Super 100’S Double Face.” Vogue Germany explains that double-face fabric is made with two layers and can be reversible, and describes Gammarelli as a traditional Italian tailor and fabric maker.

In a red-carpet interview quoted in Vogue Germany’s 2026 retrospective, Klum said: “At first it looks rather simple, because the fabric is a classic suiting fabric—but it is very special. It comes from a company that has been making this exact fabric since 1798.” The 1798 date is Klum’s statement as quoted by Vogue Germany, not an independently verified company-history finding here. Vogue Germany’s contemporaneous video description also says the fabric is one worn by popes for centuries; that is the publication’s description.
When was Klum’s last Met Gala before 2025?
Her previous appearance was in 2013, making the 2025 event a 12-year return. Vogue Germany lists her earlier appearances in 2003, 2009, 2012 and 2013, and calls 2025 her fifth Met Gala.

How did the look fit the 2025 Met Gala theme?
The exhibition was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the dress code was “Tailored For You.” Vogue describes the exhibition as exploring clothing and style in the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora, organized around 12 characteristics of Black dandyism. Klum’s tailored-suiting fabric reference connected her gown to the event’s tailoring language, while the sources do not establish that her outfit was intended as a direct interpretation of the exhibition’s themes.
