Avengers: Endgame is the highest-grossing Marvel movie in the current worldwide chart snapshot, with a Box Office Mojo lifetime gross of $2,926,549,214 as of October 7, 2026. Highest-grossing Marvel movies worldwide
The table ranks Marvel movies by their all-film position in Box Office Mojo’s worldwide lifetime-gross chart, using the figures displayed on October 7, 2026. It is not an MCU-only ranking: a film’s chart position includes every movie ahead of it, regardless of franchise.

What makes Endgame the current record-holder?
Disney announced on October 4, 2026, that Avengers: Endgame had reclaimed the worldwide record after the success of Avengers Endgame: Encore. Disney estimated the film’s total at $2.9255 billion and Avatar’s at $2.9237 billion. Three days later, Box Office Mojo displayed totals of $2,926,549,214 for Endgame and $2,923,710,708 for Avatar. The figures differ slightly because the sources reported different updates or estimates; each set should be read as that source’s dated total, not averaged into a single figure. Disney’s October 4 announcement describes the rerelease’s role in the change.

What counts as a Marvel movie?
“Marvel movies” can mean different sets of films. This list identifies Marvel titles in the worldwide chart, while the The Numbers MCU franchise table covers the narrower Marvel Cinematic Universe category. A broad Marvel-character list can also include films based on Marvel characters made outside the MCU, including Sony- or Fox-era titles. Those scopes should not be treated as interchangeable.
The Numbers is also a separate box-office database, and its figures do not always match Box Office Mojo’s. For example, its listed totals are $1,921,206,586 for Spider-Man: No Way Home and $1,334,157,082 for Black Panther, while its Deadpool & Wolverine total matches Box Office Mojo’s at $1,338,073,645. The ranking table above uses Box Office Mojo consistently rather than mixing database figures.

How to interpret the grosses
- Worldwide, not domestic: The table uses worldwide totals, not U.S. and Canada grosses alone.
- Gross, not profit: A theatrical gross is not a film’s profit, production budget, ticket count, streaming performance, or total franchise earnings.
- Nominal dollars, not inflation-adjusted: The ranking does not account for changes in ticket prices or purchasing power. An inflation-adjusted ranking would require a separately defined method and data source.
- Lifetime totals can change: Rereleases add receipts to cumulative grosses and can affect positions, as Endgame’s 2026 rerelease demonstrates.
Disney separately reported that Marvel Studios’ 38 theatrical releases had generated more than $35 billion worldwide as of October 4, 2026. That is a studio-wide aggregate, not the gross of any one movie. Disney’s announcement gives that figure alongside its record claim.
