The Hi-Fi RUSH soundtrack briefly disappeared from streaming services around November 10, 2025. The game’s director, John Johanas, said on November 11 that the removal was likely connected to the publisher transition and that the music would return, but he could not give a date. That explanation was not confirmation of a specific licensing or technical cause.
What happened to the Hi-Fi RUSH soundtrack?
News reports said the original soundtrack was removed from streaming around November 10, 2025. On November 11, Hi-Fi RUSH director John Johanas posted: “FYI this is likely publisher transition related and the soundtrack will be back on services soon. Just not sure when. Please stay tuned! Don’t panic!” GamesRadar+ reported his statement that day; NME reported the removal.
Johanas described the publisher transition as a likely explanation, not a confirmed root cause. The available accounts do not establish whether a licensing change, distribution arrangement, metadata issue, or another operational step caused the temporary disappearance.
Why was the Hi-Fi RUSH soundtrack removed from Spotify?
The specific cause has not been confirmed. Johanas’s November 11 explanation linked the event likely to the publisher transition, but neither his statement nor the official transfer information identifies a particular rights or technical change. Spotify says catalog availability can vary over time and between countries according to rights-holder permissions; that general policy does not confirm why this soundtrack disappeared. Is the Hi-Fi RUSH soundtrack back on streaming?
Availability should be checked on the service and in the country where you listen: a listing in one storefront does not establish that every streaming service, region, or account has the same catalog. At the time the store pages were checked, Apple Music displayed the official album and said it was also available in the iTunes Store; Steam displayed its downloadable soundtrack product. Apple Music and Steam are the relevant listings to check directly.
Where can you listen to the Hi-Fi RUSH soundtrack?
| Option | What its listing says | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Music / iTunes Store | Apple Music lists the official album with 66 songs and a 3-hour-17-minute runtime, and identifies iTunes Store availability. The album is dated February 21, 2023. Apple Music | Confirm the album can be played or purchased in your territory; catalog availability may differ by country. |
| Steam | Steam offers a downloadable soundtrack as additional content, separate from the base game. Its listing describes more than 60 tracks and over three hours of original music, including Streamer Mode boss-battle tracks. Steam | Check the store listing for your account and region. Do not assume this product contains exactly the same licensed-song catalog as the streaming album. |
| Previously purchased soundtrack or DLC | KRAFTON says prior soundtrack and DLC purchases made through Steam, Epic, PlayStation, and Xbox remain usable following the service transfer. KRAFTON Help Center FAQ | Use the account and storefront where you made the purchase. |
Does Streamer Mode make Hi-Fi RUSH safe to stream?
KRAFTON says Streamer Mode replaces licensed songs with original tracks created for streaming. That can reduce the risk tied to the game’s licensed music, but it is not a guarantee against claims or other enforcement: KRAFTON warns that external platform policies and automated content-detection systems may still affect uploads. Copyright warnings, mutes, or takedown notices depend on the platform’s rules. KRAFTON’s Streamer Mode guidance
