A clip from Hasan Piker’s October 7, 2025 livestream prompted viewers to accuse him of using a shock collar on his dog, Kaya. The clip shows Kaya yelping as Piker reaches off-camera, but it does not establish what caused the yelp. Piker denied activating a shock function and offered a different explanation. The cited public reports do not independently resolve what happened.
What happened in the livestream clip?
The clip, dated October 7, 2025, shows Kaya yelping while Piker reaches out of frame. Some viewers interpreted the timing as evidence that he had activated a shock collar. The footage establishes the sequence viewers reacted to, not the cause of the yelp or whether a shock was delivered. Cybernews reported on the clip and Piker’s response.
What did Hasan Piker say?
On October 8, Piker denied using a shock function. He said Kaya may have caught or clipped herself while getting off the bed, and described her collar as a vibration device used for training and communication. Cybernews quoted him saying, “she yelped because she f**king clipped herself on something when she was getting off the bed.” These are Piker’s reported statements; they do not independently verify the device or explain what caused the yelp.
In an October 16 interview with TMZ, Piker said the clip looked bad and reiterated that Kaya had her regular collar on at the time. He described a separate vibration collar that he used to signal her on walks. His comments provide his account, not independent confirmation of what occurred in the livestream moment. TMZ reported the interview.

No. The cited public reports do not independently establish that a shock was delivered, or determine what made Kaya yelp. The clip’s timing prompted the allegation, but does not by itself prove it. Piker’s denial and alternative explanation are also not independently verified. The central factual question remains unresolved in the available public record.
What did PETA say?
PETA’s reported comment was conditional, not a finding about the clip. The Express Tribune reported that PETA told The Hollywood Reporter: “Hasan Piker has denied using a shock collar on his dog, and we hope that’s true because shock collars are dangerous and downright cruel.” The statement also expressed a preference for positive reinforcement. The Express Tribune reported PETA’s response.
