No direct, attributable statement by Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami specifically about Kirara Hoshi is verified in the official sources checked. Shueisha confirms that Akutami contributed extensive character Q&A to the Official Fanbook, but its public listing does not identify a Kirara-specific answer. Official anime character notes do describe Kirara, but those are franchise character information—not a separate quote from Akutami.
What the official sources establish
Shueisha’s listing for the Japanese Jujutsu Kaisen Official Fanbook says it was released on March 4, 2021, and includes more than 350 new Q&A items about over 70 characters, along with setting explanations and chapter commentary. The official anime character page describes Kirara Hoshi as a third-year at Tokyo Jujutsu High, close to Hakari and an assistant to his fight operation, and says Kirara’s technique is modeled on the Southern Cross. VIZ lists the English Jujutsu Kaisen Official Character Guide as a 232-page book released April 23, 2024, containing character profiles and an Akutami–Tite Kubo interview. Why the fanbook does not settle the question
The fanbook’s March 2021 release predates Kirara’s prominent Culling Game storyline. Its broad description of author Q&A is not evidence that Akutami discussed Kirara specifically, and the catalog page does not provide the full text or an indexed list of its answers. That timing and limited public description leave open whether Kirara is mentioned somewhere in an edition or another source; they do not prove that no comment exists.

Until a claim can be traced to a specific page, interview, or official transcript, treat it as unverified. A dated official publication listing can confirm a book’s scope, but a Kirara-specific claim needs a source that actually shows Akutami’s words or identifies the relevant passage. Keep creator statements distinct from official character profiles and other canon material.
