London’s best-known Harry Potter filming stops include King’s Cross Station, Leadenhall Market, Millennium Bridge and Australia House. You can see the public landmarks on a city visit, but a film location is not always a place you can enter: Australia House’s Gringotts connection, for example, does not guarantee public access inside.
Which Harry Potter filming locations can you visit in London?
These stops connect recognizable real places with scenes from the films. The locations below are a useful selection, not a complete list of every filming site in London or Greater London.
King’s Cross Station: the Hogwarts Express
In Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, King’s Cross is where the Hogwarts Express departs. The station also has a Platform 9¾ visitor photo spot. That is a visitor feature, not a real platform numbered 9¾. Check station information before you go for current conditions. VisitLondon’s London film-location guide identifies the station and its connection to the films.
Leadenhall Market and Bull’s Head Passage: Diagon Alley and the Leaky Cauldron
Leadenhall Market is associated with Diagon Alley, while the blue door in nearby Bull’s Head Passage is identified as the Leaky Cauldron entrance. This is one of the strongest central-London stops for seeing how real architecture helped establish the films’ magical streets. VisitLondon describes both connections, and VisitBritain also identifies Leadenhall Market with Diagon Alley. VisitLondon; VisitBritain
Millennium Bridge: the Half-Blood Prince opening
VisitBritain associates Millennium Bridge with the opening sequence of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; VisitLondon also lists it among the film locations. The bridge’s destruction in the film is fictional visual effects, not real damage. It remains a working pedestrian crossing, so enjoy the view without blocking people using it. Australia House: Gringotts Wizarding Bank
Warner Bros. says Gringotts Wizarding Bank was filmed on location at Australia House for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. This confirms the filming connection, not permission to enter the building. Treat it as an exterior stop unless visitor access has been confirmed directly. Warner Bros. Studio Tour’s Gringotts page

Borough Market and Stoney Street: a later Leaky Cauldron entrance
A secondary location guide attributes the Leaky Cauldron entrance in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban to the Borough Market and Stoney Street area. The primary sources cited for the other locations do not confirm this specific attribution, so treat it as a commonly listed location rather than equally documented evidence. Borough Market is an active market; be considerate of traders and customers while visiting. Harry Potter Studio’s London locations guide
How to plan a London locations walk
A practical self-guided day can begin at King’s Cross, continue to Leadenhall Market and Bull’s Head Passage, then head towards the Millennium Bridge and the South Bank/Borough Market area. Australia House works better as a separate exterior stop unless you have verified entry. This grouping is a planning suggestion based on the sites’ locations, not a route checked against current closures or transit conditions.

- PRE-ORDER Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Illustrated Edition Hardcover
VisitLondon also presents guided walking tours as an option. A guide can add film context and help connect the stops; a self-guided visit gives you more flexibility. Check the operator’s current itinerary and booking details before choosing a tour. VisitLondon’s Harry Potter activities guide
Opening hours, building access, ticket prices and transport disruptions are not established here. Confirm current details with the relevant venue or transport operator, especially before planning around an indoor visit.

London filming locations or the Warner Bros. Studio Tour?
The city locations and the Studio Tour are different experiences. A London walk takes you to real streets, stations and landmarks associated with scenes. The Warner Bros. Studio Tour is at Leavesden, outside central London; it presents original sets and behind-the-scenes material. Warner Bros. says all eight films were produced at Leavesden. Plan the Studio Tour as a separate visit, allowing for the additional travel rather than treating it as another central-London stop. Warner Bros. Studio Tour: About the Tour
