On July 2, 2024, Heart singer Ann Wilson said an operation to remove material that proved cancerous had been successful and that she was “feeling great” at the time. She also said her doctors advised preventive chemotherapy and told her to take the rest of 2024 away from the stage. Her statement did not identify the cancer type, location, stage or prognosis.

Wilson wrote: “The operation was successful & I’m feeling great, but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it.” The wording describes how she felt when she made the statement in July 2024; it does not establish her health now. Why Heart postponed its 2024 tour dates
Heart announced that its remaining 2024 tour shows would be postponed after Wilson’s doctors advised her to step away from performing. The announcement told ticket holders to hold onto their tickets for rescheduled dates. That was guidance issued in 2024; it does not confirm current ticket validity or the status of any rescheduled show. Check current official band or venue announcements for up-to-date details.

In May 2024, ABC News reported that the band had postponed the European leg and described Wilson’s planned procedure as time-sensitive but routine. That earlier description did not identify the later-reported cancerous finding. ABC News reported on the July announcement.
What Wilson said about returning to the stage
In her July 2024 statement, Wilson said she planned to return to the stage in 2025 and added, “This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.” Those words record her intention at the time, not confirmation of a later performance or a current tour itinerary. The Guardian covered her statement on July 3, 2024.

- Rock out with the founder and lead singer-songwriter of the barrier-breaking band Heart, in a concert featuring songs from her new album, Another Door. Backed by her band Tripsitter, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winner and member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame also sings her classic hits, including "Barracuda," "Crazy On You," and "Magic Man." Wilson and her band, Tripsitter also perform a couple of classic Led Zeppelin songs.
What is—and is not—known about her health now
The available statements establish what Wilson reported in July 2024: a successful operation, her description of feeling great at that time, doctors’ advice to undergo preventive chemotherapy, and a break from touring for the rest of that year. They do not establish her health status in October 2026. They also do not name the cancer type, its location or stage, or her prognosis, so claims beyond those limits would be speculation.
For tour context, the Los Angeles Times reported in July 2024 that the Royal Flush Tour included more than 50 U.S. and Canadian shows. That was a contemporaneous account, not a current tour count or confirmation of which acts would take part in rescheduled dates. Read the Los Angeles Times report.
