Halsey released “The End” on June 4, 2024. She introduced it as the first song from her fifth album, which was then untitled and later released as The Great Impersonator.
What Halsey meant by “Let’s start at THE END”
On June 3, 2024, Halsey announced the song with the line, “Let’s try something different this time and start at ‘The End’.” The phrasing referred to the song’s title and to its place in the rollout: rather than wait for the full album, she was sharing an early track. BMG’s June 5 announcement reproduced the post and described the song as the first single from her upcoming fifth studio album.

When “The End” came out
The song was released June 4, 2024. Halsey’s release message, reproduced by Sony Music Canada, ended with “it begins with The End. Out now.” The announcement’s “out this week” wording is historical, not a current release notice.
How the song connects to The Great Impersonator
At the time of the announcement, Halsey referred to the project only as her fifth album. The eventual title, The Great Impersonator, appears in the artist’s catalog on Sony Music Japan’s official discography, which lists it as a 2024 album.
