Guy Fieri’s subdued “JustaGuy” look was a character transformation for Bosch’s Super Bowl LX commercial, not a change to his everyday appearance. He wore a wig and ordinary business-casual clothes, with post-production visual effects helping create the contrast with his familiar spiky blond hair and goatee. Fieri said his wife, Lori, and their children were surprised by the makeover.
Why Guy Fieri changed his look
The Bosch campaign introduced Fieri as “JustaGuy,” an intentionally understated character set against his familiar high-energy television persona. Instead of spiky blond hair, a goatee, jewelry and bold styling, the character wore a wig, khakis, a button-down shirt and white tennis shoes, without jewelry. The contrast was the point: this was a role for the commercial, not a newly adopted personal look.
The commercial was reported as scheduled to air during Super Bowl LX on February 8, 2026. A birthday teaser had appeared on January 22, 2026, and both dates are now in the past.
How the makeover was created
Fieri said he could not shave his goatee because he was filming Tournament of Champions. He told Delish on January 26, 2026: “They brought in a CGI guy because I couldn’t shave my goatee; I was in the middle of filming Tournament of Champions,”

The transformation combined a wig and visual effects. A Bosch spokesperson told Us Weekly that the birthday video was shot with Fieri himself, saying, “Guy’s birthday post is not AI,” and adding: “The video was shot with Guy Fieri himself, and the JustaGuy transformation was achieved using high-end post-production visual effects.” The account describes a real appearance by Fieri with a digitally finished makeover, not an AI-generated birthday video.
How Lori and the children reacted
Fieri said his wife and children watched him in the transformed look and seemed to see him differently. In the Delish interview, he recalled Lori’s first response when he appeared in khakis, a button-down shirt, white tennis shoes and the wig: “She looked at me and went, ‘Oh boy,’” He also said she did not remember his earlier brown-haired, goatee-free appearance and later wanted him to speak normally again.

The family’s surprise followed from how far “JustaGuy” departed from the recognizable look and mannerisms Fieri had built his public persona around. The makeover was meant to read as a different character, not simply a haircut or wardrobe refresh.

Fieri discussed several Bosch items visible on the set with Delish: a nailer, circular saw, leveling tool and refrigerator. He called the fridge his favorite, but the published account did not provide product model numbers. Those props were part of the commercial setting; the central story was Fieri’s character transformation.
