Is The Way Home on Netflix now?
In the United States, Netflix currently lists four seasons. The dates in the original 2025 arrival announcement are now past: it said the first two seasons would arrive October 1 and season three in February 2026. Since then, Hallmark has announced and aired season four, which it identifies as the final season.

Netflix catalogs vary by country and can change, so viewers outside the US should check their local Netflix listing rather than assume the same seasons are available. Hallmark says season four premiered on Hallmark Channel on April 19, 2026, with episodes streaming on Hallmark+ the following day. Hallmark+ currently lists all episodes of the four-season series.
Why might Virgin River fans enjoy it?
The connection is tone and audience appeal: both shows make room for romance, emotional relationships and melodrama. Netflix tags Virgin River as “Soapy” and “Heartfelt”; its tags for The Way Home include “Sincere,” “Nostalgic,” “Time Travel” and “Family Relationship.” Those labels help explain the recommendation, but the shows have different story engines.

The timelines and family lore also ask viewers to accept a speculative premise and follow an increasingly intricate mystery.
What does “most controversial” mean here?
“Most controversial” is TechRadar’s provocative description, not an independently verified ranking of Hallmark shows. The specific documented controversy is a change to the release plan: season three had originally been set for Hallmark+, then Hallmark announced it would premiere on Hallmark Channel instead. In its December 13, 2024 announcement, Hallmark attributed the change to “overwhelming demand.” That statement records Hallmark’s explanation for the schedule change; it does not establish an objective controversy ranking.
