Halle Berry marked the 20th anniversary of the 2004 film Catwoman with an Instagram carousel on July 23, 2024, featuring her posing topless with two black cats and wearing a Catwoman-style mask. How the kittens were connected to the post
Berry said the cats had appeared in her yard looking for their mother and thanked Jee for helping with the rescue. Us Weekly identifies the helper as Jee H. Lim. Separately, Cosmopolitan reported, citing an Entertainment Weekly interview, that Berry had rescued four kittens from her yard three weeks earlier. That number refers to the broader rescue Berry described; it does not establish that all four kittens appeared in the anniversary photos.

In the Entertainment Weekly interview excerpt reported by Cosmopolitan, Berry said, “I became a cat lover because of it,” referring to Catwoman. She also said, “That experience changed me.” These remarks connect the film to her later affection for cats, while the anniversary caption itself focused on her continuing attachment to Patience Phillips.
The anniversary was for the 2004 film and Berry’s portrayal of Patience Phillips—not a claim that she originated the Catwoman character. In reflecting on the movie’s box-office outcome, Berry told Cosmopolitan, “I felt like it was Halle Berry’s failure, but I didn’t make it alone.” She was discussing the production’s result, rather than taking sole responsibility for it.
