In a 2021 Bloomberg interview, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai was asked to choose between Ted Lasso and Squid Game. The report says he enjoys both, but Ted Lasso was the easy winner.
What Pichai was asked
Bloomberg interviewer Emily Chang put the choice this way: “Squid Game or Ted Lasso? Cricket or Football?” Bloomberg Technology shared the prompt on November 30, 2021. The embedded post reproduces Chang’s question, not Pichai’s exact spoken answer.
His reported pick
In its December 1, 2021 report, iMore said Pichai enjoys both shows but found Ted Lasso the easy winner. The headline summarizes the reported choice; it is not a verbatim quote from Pichai, and the report does not give his detailed reasoning.
The shows and the date
In the report’s 2021 context, Ted Lasso was associated with Apple TV+ and Squid Game with Netflix. That is platform context from the time of the article, not a guarantee of current availability in every country or subscription tier. The report was published December 1, 2021; the iMore December 2021 archive lists it under that date.
