Godzilla Minus One is available in several North American home-video formats, but the standard 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions do not include the black-and-white presentation, Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color. Toho’s separate Deluxe Japan Collector’s Edition and later Watch Along Edition pair the color film with Minus Color.
Which North American editions were announced?
Toho’s August 6, 2024 announcement listed four North American packages: a 4K UHD Steelbook, a standard 4K UHD edition, a Blu-ray edition, and a DVD edition. The packages differ in their discs, and none includes Minus Color. Toho’s announcement does not state a street release date in the page text reviewed. See Toho’s North American home-video announcement.
| Edition | Discs listed by Toho | Minus Color included? |
|---|---|---|
| 4K UHD Steelbook | 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and bonus Blu-ray | No |
| Standard 4K UHD | 4K UHD and bonus Blu-ray | No |
| Blu-ray | Blu-ray and bonus Blu-ray | No |
| DVD | DVD | No |
The 4K Steelbook is not the same package as the standard 4K edition: the Steelbook announcement names both a Blu-ray and a bonus Blu-ray in addition to the 4K disc. The standard 4K package lists a bonus Blu-ray, but not a separate regular Blu-ray.
Do the North American 4K or Blu-ray editions include Minus Color?
No. Toho explicitly says its four North American editions omit the black-and-white version. This applies to the standard 4K UHD package and the 4K UHD Steelbook as well as the Blu-ray and DVD. If having both presentations in one package matters, look to the separately announced Japan Collector’s Edition or Watch Along Edition rather than assuming the regular 4K release includes Minus Color.

For the North American releases, Toho lists Japanese audio or an English dub, plus English, French, and Spanish subtitles. The announcement does not give a per-disc audio breakdown, so it does not establish that every disc in every package has the same audio options.
Which collector’s edition includes both versions?
Toho’s July 9, 2024 announcement described a Godzilla Store-exclusive, four-disc Deluxe Japan Collector’s Edition. It includes the color feature on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, Minus Color on Blu-ray, and a bonus Blu-ray. The bonus disc’s content is Japanese-language only; the two films have English and Spanish subtitle options, and the set has English menus. Toho’s Deluxe Japan Collector’s Edition announcement details the package.
