How did Joe Duplantier respond to the “satanic” label?
In remarks quoted from a Rolling Stone interview, Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier framed the performance as French history rather than a statement of satanic intent. He said: “It’s French history,” adding, “It’s French charm, you know, beheaded people, red wine, and blood all over the place — it’s romantic, it’s normal. There’s nothing satanic.”
