Request Last Week Tonight studio tickets through the official ticket page at LastWeekTickets.com. The show says tickets are always free, but a lottery request does not guarantee admission. Do not pay a resale site for a ticket to a taping.
How to request tickets
-
Visit the official ticket page and check the current schedule and lottery opening for the Saturday you want. Tapings and opening times can change, so verify them on the page before making plans.

Check the eligibility rules before applying. The page says audience members must be at least 18 and either live in the New York City area—New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut—or be in New York City during filming week. It gives separate instructions for international visitors.
-
Submit one request for that lottery. The page says multiple entries in the same lottery result in elimination. It also asks people who have attended in any season not to apply, citing demand and a backlog of fans who have not yet attended.

Check the schedule before you travel
At the time the official schedule was checked, it listed tapings on Saturday, October 10 and October 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., with later October and November dates also shown. Lottery openings were listed for Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m. These are time-sensitive listings, not a standing schedule; the page says dates may change. Confirm the current date and lottery details at LastWeekTickets.com before arranging travel.
Where the taping takes place
The listed studio is the CBS Broadcast Center, 530 West 57th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenue, New York, NY 10019. Follow the arrival time and any other directions in your confirmation email rather than relying on general schedule information.

Can you get in through standby?
The official page says a standby line is available, but standby is not guaranteed admission and the page does not publish entry odds. It says not to come to the studio before 3:10 p.m. on a Saturday when the show tapes. The page gives priority to international visitors and people from outside New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania; it encourages fans in the tri-state area to use the lottery. Check the official instructions again before going, since standby details can change.

Tickets to a Last Week Tonight taping are requested through the free lottery. John Oliver also lists paid live performances on his official website, including dates with Seth Meyers at the Beacon Theatre and John Oliver: Live in Concert performances in other cities. Those are separate comedy events, not admission to the television taping. Ticketmaster’s John Oliver listings are for paid live events as well.

What to know before applying
-
The lottery request is not a ticket guarantee, and the official page publishes no lottery odds or standby success rate.
-
“Free” refers to the taping ticket, not travel, lodging, or local transportation.
