Gayle King said on CBS Mornings on October 31, 2025, that she was neither engaged nor married. She described online images that appeared to show her wearing a large ring and at a wedding as AI-generated.
What did Gayle King say about the engagement rumors?
King said she had received texts, messages and online stories claiming she was engaged. Referring to an image of herself wearing a large ring, she joked that she did not know who the supposed lucky man was. She then addressed the reports directly: “I’m not married, not even engaged.” AOL’s October 31, 2025 report, republishing People reporting by Dave Quinn, attributed the statement to King’s broadcast appearance.
King also said, “Believe me, if I was, you’d hear it here first.” Her co-host Nate Burleson reacted with surprise when she explained the images were AI-generated. King said she had looked at one herself and wondered whether it showed her. The Independent’s October 31, 2025 report also covered her denial and the images.
Were the Gayle King wedding pictures real?
King characterized the images circulating with the engagement and marriage claims as AI-generated, not evidence of a real engagement or wedding. She said, “These [AI-]generated images have been making their way across the internet.” Reports said the images prompted people to send congratulations and messages expressing happiness for her.
