Gary Adshead replaced Liam Bartlett as 6PR Mornings host on 21 November 2022. The station announced the appointment on 21 October 2022, describing it as Adshead’s return to its airwaves. He is no longer the program’s host: 6PR’s current schedule lists Simon Beaumont for weekday Mornings.
When did Gary Adshead replace Liam Bartlett?
6PR announced on 21 October 2022 that Adshead would take over the Mornings program, with his first show scheduled for Monday 21 November. The station called it a return to its airwaves. Adshead said, “It’s a privilege to take the reigns of the Mornings program and reconnect with the listeners.” 6PR’s announcement is the primary source for the appointment and its planned start date.
In the announcement, 6PR described Adshead’s career as spanning investigative reporting in television, radio and print for almost 40 years. The station also reported that he had received the WA Journalist of the Year award four times, most recently in 2018. Those career and award details are claims made by 6PR in its announcement.
Is Gary Adshead still the 6PR Mornings host?
No. RadioInfo reported on 6 December 2024 that Simon Beaumont would return to host 6PR’s morning program from 13 January 2025, replacing Adshead as Adshead moved to ABC Drive. RadioInfo’s report covers that later lineup change.
