Is Gachiakuta getting a Season 2?
Yes. Season 2 has been officially confirmed and is described as in production on the anime’s English-language official site. The official news archive records the announcement on December 22, 2025. The confirmation establishes that another season is being made; it does not establish when it will premiere.

When does Gachiakuta Season 2 come out?
No premiere date is established in the official notices cited here. The official site announced a Season 2 event at Anime Expo for July 3, 2026, titled “Gachiakuta – Return to the Pit! Exclusive First Look at Season 2 featuring Cast and Staff,” and said attendees would see an early sneak peek at new footage. That event announcement is not a release-date announcement, and by itself does not establish whether the footage was later posted online.
For a date, look for a newer announcement from the official anime news archive. Until one appears, a specific year, season, or day should be treated as unconfirmed.

What is Gachiakuta about?
Gachiakuta adapts the manga by Kei Urana, with graffiti design by Hideyoshi Andou. Its official premise follows Rudo, an orphan raised in a slum inhabited by descendants of criminals. After he is falsely accused, he is thrown into the Pit. The story follows his struggle against discrimination and a world he wants to change.
The anime is produced by bones film. Season 1 credits Fumihiko Suganuma as director, Hiroshi Seko for series composition, Satoshi Ishino for character design and chief animation direction, and Taku Iwasaki for music. Those are Season 1 credits; they should not be read as confirmation of Season 2’s staff.

Does the Season 1 finale reveal anything about Season 2?
Spoiler warning for Episode 24: The official finale preview says Rudo and the others discover the Watchman Series hidden in Canvas Town’s murals, along with a secret connected to Rudo. That is a Season 1 finale development, not an official Season 2 plot synopsis; no further Season 2 story details are established by that preview.
