Grand Theft Auto VI won the publicly voted Most Wanted Game award at the 2024 Golden Joystick Awards. Accepting for Rockstar, representative David Manley praised the work underway on the game as “absolutely mind-blowing things” and added, “yeah, more to come.” He did not reveal a specific feature or give a date for further news.
What award did GTA 6 win?
GTA VI took home Most Wanted Game at the 42nd Golden Joystick Awards in 2024. The category was decided by public vote. It was separate from the ceremony’s Ultimate Game of the Year award, which went to Black Myth: Wukong. PC Gamer’s report on the award covers the result and Manley’s acceptance remarks.
TechSpot reported that the 2024 awards received 12 million votes across 21 categories. That figure describes the ceremony overall; no individual vote total for GTA VI’s category was disclosed. TechSpot’s report provides that ceremony-wide figure.
What did Rockstar mean by “absolutely mind-blowing things”?
David Manley, accepting on behalf of the Rockstar team, said: “There’s an incredible amount of people doing amazing things on Grand Theft Auto 6, absolutely mind-blowing things.” He thanked fans and the team, then ended with: “Thank you very much everybody, and yeah, more to come.” PC Gamer reported the remarks, which TechSpot also covered. The wording signals enthusiasm and suggests Rockstar expects to share more in the future, but it is not a feature announcement. Manley did not identify what the “things” were, show footage, or specify when Rockstar would release further information. The remark should not be treated as confirmation of any particular gameplay system or reveal schedule.
What is GTA 6’s current release date and platform availability?
Rockstar currently lists November 19, 2026, as Grand Theft Auto VI’s release date. Rockstar Support lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as preorder platforms. Those current official listings supersede the 2025 launch references in the 2024 award coverage. Does the physical edition of GTA 6 include a disc?
No. Rockstar Support and Take-Two describe the physical Standard Edition as a boxed download code, not a disc. Take-Two says it will be sold through global retailers and storefronts. Rockstar Support also says redemption-region rules apply in some cases, so check the platform and account region before ordering. Rockstar Support says there is no physical Ultimate Edition.
