The gag is part of an ad about how remembering what Uber Eats delivers means making room by forgetting something else—not a new Friends episode or a formal reunion special.
What happens in the commercial?
The spot opens with Aniston picking up an Uber Eats bag on a studio lot. When a production employee says they did not realize the service could deliver such a wide range of products, Aniston offers the campaign’s explanation: “Well, you know what they say. In order to remember something, you gotta forget something else. Make a little room,” according to Access Hollywood’s description of the ad.

The idea plays out as a string of comic memory lapses. Aniston fails to recognize Schwimmer, her longtime co-star on Friends. In another scene, David and Victoria Beckham forget that Victoria was once known as Posh Spice. The campaign ends with the line, “Whatever you forget, remember, Uber Eats gets anything,” as TIME describes it.
Why are Aniston and Schwimmer together?
The joke draws on their familiar on-screen partnership as Rachel Green and Ross Geller in Friends: Aniston’s character treats Schwimmer as a stranger. The forgetting is scripted comedy, not evidence that the actors forgot one another in real life.

Although the ad can be described as a Friends reunion in the limited sense that the two stars appear together, it is an advertisement, not a new episode, reboot, or official reunion program. TVLine’s coverage distinguishes it from the separate 2021 HBO Max Friends reunion special.
Which celebrities appear in the Uber Eats ad?
Alongside Aniston and Schwimmer, the commercial features David and Victoria Beckham. TVLine also names Jelly Roll and Usher among the celebrities in the spot. The different appearances extend the same premise: the characters forget something familiar while the ad promotes the range of things Uber Eats delivers.

When did the ad air?
This was part of Uber Eats’ campaign for Super Bowl LVIII in 2024. TVLine reported on February 6, 2024, that the commercial was available to watch early and was scheduled for CBS’s February 11 broadcast of the game. That date is historical, not an upcoming broadcast listing. TVLine’s report and the Associated Press campaign overview describe the spot and its central gag.
