Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

At the time, the way to get a free comic was to visit a participating comic shop; each store set its own limits and selection. If you are checking now, contact local shops to ask whether any 2025 copies remain—current leftover stock is not established.
How could you get a free comic on May 3, 2025?
- Find a participating shop. Use the official Free Comic Book Day FAQ to locate a participating retailer. Not every comic retailer took part.
- Contact the shop before visiting. Confirm that it participated, its event hours, which titles it had, and how many free books each person could take. The FAQ said visitors to participating shops would receive at least one free comic, subject to each shop’s quantity policy.
- Ask about specific books. A national lineup did not mean every shop had every title. Ask the store whether it carried the Gold or Silver books you wanted and whether copies were still available.
Because the 2025 event is over, the same practical first step applies if you are looking for a copy now: call nearby comic shops and ask whether they have any leftovers. The official materials do not confirm current inventory.
Why did free comic selections differ by shop?
For the 2025 event, participating shops carried Gold sponsor titles while supplies lasted, while shops selected Silver titles at their discretion. The Gold and Silver labels described how titles were made available to stores; they did not guarantee that every participating shop stocked the full lineup. Check a store’s own list rather than relying on the national list.
What comics were in the 2025 lineup?
The official lineup announcement listed 46 titles: 13 Gold and 33 Silver. Examples of Silver books included Star Wars, Godzilla, Transformers, Mega Man and Street Fighter. These were national lineup details, not confirmation that a particular store carried those books. See the full 2025 lineup announcement.

Was there a digital way to read a 2025 free comic?
DC announced that its All In/Absolute Universe 2025 FCBD Special Edition flipbook would be free to read with registration on DC Universe Infinite. The announcement described a Superman Unlimited prelude and an Absolute Universe story. This was a time-specific option announced for 2025; the announcement does not establish whether access is still available.
DC also said the print edition would be available at participating local comic shops on May 3 while supplies lasted. Its announcement described Superman’s Good Guy Gang for ages 5–7 and Kanga-U: Tests and Tournaments for ages 8–12; those age ranges are DC’s descriptions. A separately listed foil variant cost US$4.99 and was not required to get the free giveaway. See DC’s 2025 announcement.

What to ask a shop if you are looking now
- Did you participate in Free Comic Book Day 2025?
- Do you have any 2025 giveaway copies left, and which titles?
- What quantity limits applied, or apply to any remaining copies?
- Are the copies available without a purchase?
Store participation, limits and Silver-title selection were local decisions. The event giveaways did not require buying a book, merchandise or a subscription. Because no source confirms current stock, only the shop can tell you whether a 2025 copy is still on hand.
