Foundation season 4 is confirmed, but Apple has not announced a release date or release window. A June 2026 report projected a mid-2027 premiere, but that is an outlet’s estimate—not an Apple-confirmed date. As of October 8, 2026, the premiere timing remains unknown.
Is Foundation season 4 confirmed?
Yes. Apple announced the renewal on September 11, 2025, and named Ian Goldberg and David Kob as co-showrunners and executive producers for season 4. Apple said production was set to begin in early 2026; that was a planned start, not confirmation of when filming actually began or ended. Apple’s announcement did not give the season a premiere date.
When could Foundation season 4 come out?
There is no confirmed date or release window. The latest status report located, published September 14, 2026, said Apple had not announced either. The Mac Observer’s report is secondary coverage; Apple’s own series page also does not list a season-four date. It lists season 3 as released July 11, 2025, but the interval between seasons is not a reliable way to calculate the next premiere. Apple’s series page
What does the Prague filming report tell us?
On June 4, 2026, The Prague Reporter said filming was underway in Prague and reported that the production schedule was projected to run through July 11, 2026. The article described a mid-2027 premiere as probable. That forecast is a useful indication of what one outlet considered plausible at the time, but it is not an announced release window. The report does not establish that filming wrapped on schedule, that Apple approved a date, or what the production’s status is after that report. The Prague Reporter’s June 4 report

Could something slow the release?
No source cited here identifies a confirmed delay or a specific cause that could push season 4 back. Filming and post-production can affect a show’s schedule in general, but there is no verified season-four update after the June 2026 report establishing that either is causing a delay. Treat claims about a production problem or a new date as unconfirmed unless Apple announces them or reliable reporting documents them.
How to assess release-date claims
- Official date or window: Look for an announcement or listing from Apple. None had appeared as of October 8, 2026.
- Production update: A dated report can describe filming or a projected schedule, but it does not by itself confirm a premiere.
- Prediction: Mid-2027 is a reported estimate, not a confirmed date. Do not treat it as settled or infer a date from the release gap between earlier seasons.
Where to watch
Foundation is an Apple TV series, and Apple’s official listing is the place to check for the show and any future season announcement. The series is based on Isaac Asimov’s stories and novels; the available information does not establish which specific book season 4 adapts.
