There is no confirmed public figure for Matt Lauer and Annette Roque’s divorce settlement. Entertainment Tonight reported an estimated payment of about $20 million in 2018; Us Weekly later reported a roughly $25 million lump sum plus property, while an earlier Us Weekly report had floated a roughly $50 million overall package. Those figures came from unnamed sources, not disclosed court terms.
What the reports said the settlement was worth
The accounts differ in both amount and what they count. None establishes an exact, court-verified payment or total settlement value.
| Report | Reported amount and terms | Attribution |
|---|---|---|
| Entertainment Tonight, August 15, 2018 | About $20 million | An unnamed source; the report described a payment, not a published court judgment. Entertainment Tonight |
| Us Weekly, July 18, 2018 | A roughly $50 million overall package, said to include a $25 million one-time payment and property | An unnamed insider’s estimate. Us Weekly |
| Us Weekly, July 17, 2019 | Around $25 million as a lump sum, alongside reported property allocations | An unnamed source. Us Weekly |
The $20 million and $25 million accounts are different estimates, while the earlier $50 million figure described a package that included money and property. They should not be added together or treated as independent confirmation of one amount. The reporting also does not support calculating Lauer’s precise financial loss.
What property and other terms were reported
Us Weekly’s July 2019 account said Roque would keep a Hamptons horse farm and Lauer would receive land in New Zealand. It also reported joint custody and equal contributions to the children’s expenses. These details, like the lump-sum estimate, were attributed to an unnamed source; they are not verified here as terms of a publicly reviewed agreement.

When the divorce was finalized
Lauer and Roque married in October 1998 and separated in 2017, according to Entertainment Tonight’s 2019 report. A Suffolk County Supreme Court judge signed their divorce decree on September 5, 2019. Entertainment Tonight attributed confirmation of the signing to court spokesman Lucian Chalfen. The decree’s reported signing date does not establish the exact financial terms of the settlement.
