Jack Osbourne’s response
On September 2, 2025, Jack Osbourne responded in an Instagram Story. As quoted by The Independent, he wrote: “How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become.” Jack also called Waters pathetic and out of touch and said his father had thought poorly of him. Those were Jack’s personal judgments and recollections, not independently established facts about Waters or Ozzy’s views.
The family discussed Waters on their podcast
On November 12, 2025, Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne discussed Waters on The Osbournes Podcast. Coverage by Planet Rock and GuitarPlayer reported the family’s criticism of Waters’s character and relevance. Did Roger Waters apologize?
No. In an interview with Piers Morgan that aired January 16, 2026, Waters said he was not apologizing for his criticism. Parade reported that he expressed sympathy to Jack for losing his father, defended his original remarks as honest opinion, and said he had since listened to some of Black Sabbath’s music. Asked about regret more broadly, Waters was quoted as saying, “I regret nothing in life.” The sympathy and refusal to apologize were distinct parts of his response: he acknowledged Jack’s loss without retracting his opinion.
