In a fan’s Instagram Q&A reported by PerthNow on 22 December 2021, former The Bachelorette Australia contestant Konrad Bien-Stephens said he had not yet felt sexually attracted to a man, but he did not rule out being bisexual or describe himself as heterosexual. His comments left the question open; they do not establish his current identity.
What did Konrad Bien-Stephens say?
PerthNow reported that a fan asked him, “What’s your sexuality? Are you bisexual?” in an Instagram Q&A held on the Tuesday before the report was published.

His reported response began: “Everyone always asks me this question. It’s an interesting one. To be honest, I have not met a man that I am attracted to sexually… yet.” He then added: “Maybe I will one day. Who knows? Maybe I never will. I’m not going to say I’m not bi; I’m not going to say I’m heterosexual.”
That wording describes his experience up to that point while leaving open how he might identify. He did not say that he was bisexual, and he did not call himself heterosexual. The careful answer is that he declined to give a definitive label in the reported exchange. PerthNow’s 22 December 2021 report is the source for the Q&A and its quoted wording.

How do the comments relate to his season of The Bachelorette Australia?
Bien-Stephens appeared on Brooke Blurton’s season of the Australian reality dating series. In a separate interview with Pedestrian.TV published on 19 November 2021, shortly after his elimination, he praised the season’s inclusion of First Nations people and the LGBTQIA+ community, saying, “It felt really special to be a part of a season that was inclusive of First Nations people and the LGBTQIA+ community.”
Asked whether reality television should normalize queer contestants and romances, he answered, “Definitely!” and said he would like to see more of that visibility: “I’d love to see more of it.” These comments express support for representation; they do not supply a label for his own sexuality. Pedestrian.TV’s interview provides that context.

Brooke Blurton’s comments are a separate account
During discussion of the same season, Blurton addressed a different question: whether being in a relationship with a man meant that her attraction to women had stopped. In an interview with The Guardian published on 27 November 2021, she said, “I’m still friggin’ bisexual! Just because I’m with Darvid doesn’t mean my attraction to women just stops.” That is Blurton speaking about her own identity and experience, not Bien-Stephens’s. The Guardian’s interview gives the broader season context without changing what Bien-Stephens said.

The Instagram exchange was reported in December 2021. The cited coverage does not establish that Bien-Stephens later made a definitive statement about his sexuality or what his identity is now. His answer should be read as a dated, open-ended response rather than converted into a label or treated as a current disclosure.
