Sarah Danser, a former participant on Naked and Afraid, died after a two-vehicle crash in Kahala, Honolulu, on October 20, 2024. Honolulu police reported that the 34-year-old passenger died on October 22; news reports identified her as Danser. The police release did not name her.
What happened in the crash?
The Honolulu Police Department said the collision occurred at about 8:22 p.m. on Diamond Head Road, east of Poka Street. In its account, a 59-year-old man was driving eastbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control, crossed into the westbound lane and struck a vehicle parked alongside the road. The department’s October 22, 2024 update said the passenger, a 34-year-old woman, had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver was hospitalized in serious condition. The parked vehicle’s two occupants were a 28-year-old man, who had minor injuries and declined further treatment at the scene, and a 26-year-old woman, who was taken to hospital in serious condition.
How was Danser identified?
The police release described the deceased passenger but did not provide her name. The Things identified her as Sarah Danser and reported that she was 34. KPTV also identified Danser in its October 24, 2024 report. The identification comes from news reporting, rather than the police statement.

What was Sarah Danser known for?
Danser appeared on Naked and Afraid and Naked and Afraid XL, as well as the survival competition Fight to Survive, according to The Things. The outlet also reported that she worked as a boat captain and scuba diver. KPTV reported that she worked at Island Divers Hawaii and included recollections from her father, brother and a friend.
