A reality series called Flat Earthers was reported to be in production at the streaming service The Network in June 2024. Its planned format paired documentary-style family stories with a competition: five families who believe Earth is flat would present research to a panel and try to persuade a majority. The report set a December 2024 release target, but the available information does not confirm that the show premiered or establish where it can be watched now.
What was the Flat Earthers show about?
IndieWire described the announced series as “part docuseries, part competition show.” It was reported to follow five families who genuinely believe Earth is flat, giving each family $50,000 worth of research resources. The families would then present their findings to a panel comprising scientists, theologians, and cartographers. IndieWire’s June 21, 2024 report described the announced format.
How the competition was supposed to work
The reported win condition was to convince a majority of the panel that Earth is flat. The report did not disclose the cash-prize amount. The $50,000 figure referred to research resources for each family, not the prize.
When was it supposed to come out?
IndieWire reported on June 21, 2024 that The Network was in active production and planned to release all 10 episodes in December 2024. That was a release plan reported at the time, not confirmation of a premiere. The available information does not establish whether the episodes were released.
