Square Enix ended service on October 6, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. PDT. The game first launched for iOS and Android on September 7, 2023, then arrived on Steam on December 6, 2023. It was described as a free-to-play RPG with in-app purchases, but that original pricing model does not mean the game remains available now.
When did Ever Crisis launch on mobile?
Square Enix released FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS for the App Store and Google Play on September 7, 2023. Its Steam release followed on December 6, 2023, so the PC version came after the mobile launch. These are historical release dates, not evidence that any version can still be downloaded or played.
The publisher described the game as an RPG for iOS, Android, and Steam, with a free-to-play model and in-app purchases. That describes how the product was presented during its service; it does not establish post-closure availability. Square Enix’s game page lists those platforms and the original pricing model, while its end-of-service notice gives the launch dates and closure details.
Is Ever Crisis still playable?
No. Square Enix ended the online service on October 6, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. PDT. The notice scheduled red crystal sales to end earlier, on July 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. PDT, and said players could use existing red crystals until service ended. The closure means the game should not be treated as an active mobile or Steam release.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Square Enix’s English notice said refunds for unused paid in-game currency were available only to residents of Taiwan, with further details to follow. It does not establish a general refund entitlement for players in other regions. Check the official closure notice for the publisher’s stated terms.
What was the game intended to offer?
Producer Shoichi Ichikawa described Ever Crisis as “Another Possibility for a Remake.” He said its aim was to let players experience the FINAL FANTASY VII story and compilation titles, while introducing a young Sephiroth story featuring Glenn and his group. He also described seasonal and crossover events as ways to explore stories and outfits. This was the producer’s framing of the game’s ambition, rather than a guarantee that every player would experience the stories in the same way. Read Ichikawa’s July 8, 2026 producer’s letter.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Why did Square Enix end the service?
In that July 8, 2026 letter, Ichikawa said the company found it difficult to maintain the service level expected of a FINAL FANTASY VII title. He pointed to the challenge of balancing production costs against demand for character weapons and gear, as well as balancing equipment visuals, development cost, and gameplay balance. These are Square Enix’s stated reasons, not independently verified financial findings.
The letter also outlined plans to complete the BEFORE CRISIS -FINAL FANTASY VII- story in three parts from July through August, and to release a final saga chapter on September 6, 2026 PDT, alongside final content. Those details were plans described in the letter; the letter alone does not independently confirm that every planned release occurred.

What did the launch-period milestones mean?
Square Enix marked the September 2023 launch with login rewards and weapon draws in a release celebration notice dated September 7. Later that month, it announced a “5 Million DL Celebration Campaign.” The five-million figure is a publisher-reported historical download milestone, not a current player count or an independent measure of active users. See the launch celebration notice and five-million-download campaign notice.
