The Fantastic Four: First Steps appears to include a brief visual tribute to Stan Lee and Jack Kirby: an entertainment report identifies two men at a drafting table as the legendary collaborators. Marvel has not officially confirmed that identification in the material available, so it is best described as a reported cameo rather than a confirmed appearance.
Where is the reported Stan Lee cameo?
The moment is a brief shot of two men working at a drafting table. A Good Housekeeping report published July 26, 2025, identifies them as Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The scene is easy to read as a tribute to the pair, but the identification comes from that entertainment report—not an official Marvel Studios or director confirmation.

Why Lee and Kirby matter to the film
Lee and Kirby co-created the Fantastic Four. In its official behind-the-scenes coverage, D23 describes their work as an inspiration for director Matt Shakman, who said that inspiration began “starting with Fantastic Four No. 1 and throughout their historic, amazing run together.” Disney’s coverage also connects the early comics’ space-age optimism to the film’s creative approach.
That context makes the drafting-table image a fitting visual reference, but it does not establish who the figures are. The distinction matters: the film’s broader debt to Lee and Kirby is documented in official material; the identities in this particular shot are reported by entertainment coverage.

What Kevin Feige said about easter eggs
In a Disney interview published July 24, 2025, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said, “There are little easter eggs throughout the movie leading up the quote that we all love, which is basically him saying, ‘I put a bit of myself in every character I make.’” His comment supports the presence of Lee-related references across the film, but it does not identify the drafting-table scene or confirm that the men shown are Lee and Kirby.

Marvel describes The Fantastic Four: First Steps as a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic story. The film opened in U.S. theaters on July 25, 2025. Its period setting and emphasis on the team’s comic-book roots help explain why a drafting-table tribute would fit, though setting and creative influence alone cannot verify the cameo’s identities. See Marvel’s official film page for the premise and release information.
